Dandenong Dermatology Centre has medical and cosmetic lasers which cater to a wide range of both medical and cosmetic conditions.
Our individual treatment is outlined during a free consultation at which time we can assess your needs and advise on pre and post laser care information. Our medical grade lasers and new generation IPL’s treat conditions including telangiectasia, rosacea, Campbell de Morgan spots, acne, freckles and sun damage; Hair removal and photo rejuventation are also available. Our non ablative lasers have been very successful in treating scars and stretch marks. At Dandenong Dermatology Centre we only use properly calibrated FDA approved medical grade lasers. Our lasers have inbuilt cooling or are used in conjunction with a Zimmer cooler, which cools and protects the skin whilst minimising patient discomfort.
Rosacea.
A common skin condition that causes red pimples, flushing and broken capillaries (telangiectasia) affecting mainly the cheeks and nose of adults. This irritating condition can be safely treated with almost no downtime.
Pigmentation / Melasma.
A skin discolouration that appears as dark, irregular shaped patches. A consultation with a Dermatologist is recommended as combined treatment of prescription creams and laser is most effective. Most importantly, always wear 50+ sunscreen.
Hair Removal.
Laser hair reduction reduces the amount of unwanted hair. The heat from the light of the laser beam destroys the hair follicle which makes it difficult for hair to grow back. Your hair grows in cycles so there is a need for repeated treatments and although the amount of hair removed varies from treatment to treatment, you can expect a decrease of 10-25% each treatment with the hairs that do grow through being lighter and finer.
Photo Rejuvenation.
Radio frequency devices apply small amounts of heat safely into the dermis which lies under the top layer of skin. This leads to a remodelling of collagen and elastin, which in turn leads to plumping of the skin. The top layer of skin, the epidermis, also tightens, giving the treated skin a smoother appearance with minimal down time.
Sun Damage.
Skin aging is accelerated by sun exposure and decreased production of collagen. For the removal of age spots, uneven pigmentation and diffuse redness, our lasers offer the latest technology available. Facial treatments are most popular but most body areas can be treated including neck, chest and backs of hands.
Vascular Lesions.
These lesions can include port wine stains, broken capillaries, diffuse redness, haemangioma and cherry angioma. They can occur in many sizes and shapes and can be found all over the body. Most skin types are easily treated with the correct energy output for your individual complexion.
Skin Resurfacing / Wrinkles.
Fractional laser for skin resurfacing is available to treat light and dark skin, knock out those deepest wrinkles, improve the most challenging scars and help correct a variety of other skin imperfections. Treatments are well tolerated without lengthy recovery times.
Leg Veins.
As we age valves in our leg veins become less efficient, so less blood is pumped back from the legs. This means blood vessels in our legs become larger, darker and more visible. Smaller vessels can be improved by Nd:YAG laser using a precisely calculated pulse of laser energy directed to the leg vein vessel being treated.a
Photodynamic Therapy (PDT).
Can be used to manage patients with a range of conditions such as superficial skin cancers, along with acne, oily skin, rosacea, uneven skin tone and fine lines. After applying a chemical cream to the skin the cells convert it to an extremely light sensitive compound that is targeted with a light source.
Acne.
A common skin disease often affecting the face, neck, chest, shoulders and/or back, associated with overproduction of sebum (oily substance). Treatment is effective by slowing down the production of the sebum, with a typical course of therapy being four treatments at three weeks apart.
Glycolic Peels.
If laser therapy is not for you there are other options!, but only available at Specialist Dermatologists or Cosmetic Doctor Clinics. Glycolic peels are a specific technique for skin renewal that help remove the damaged layer of surface skin cells revealing fresh skin, stimulating cell turnover and encouraging anti-aging effects in the skin layers. A series of glycolic acid peels can help the skin appear healthier, smoother, plumper, firmer, less oily and more even toned.
Anti Wrinkle Injections.
Anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing facial muscles that cause wrinkles and lines when you smile and frown. The muscles that are injected are the only ones that are relaxed and other facial muscles stay active. We only use TGA approved injectables that are administered by qualified medical professionals.
